Moves to expel MDC-T MP

MAGWEGWE MP Anele Ndebele has alleged that there are moves to expel him from the MDC-T on charges of links to the renewal team saying possible replacements have been identified to take over his seat.
Ndebele was suspended from the MDC-T last month on charges of assaulting party members in 2013 for reportedly convening a meeting without his knowledge, but was recently acquitted by the courts.
The MP told Southern Eye that the provincial executive was yet to serve him with a suspension letter.
Ndebele, however, indicated that he would not be foolish and attend what he described as a "kangaroo" hearing called by the provincial executive that were behind moves to expel him from the party.
"The whole suspension smacks of child's play and to date no formal communication to that effect has been sent to me.
"Furthermore, there are no formal minutes of the meeting of any provincial structure that sat and arrived at that decision," he said.
"It is a fallacy that speaks of a poorly orchestrated move designed by a clueless, overzealous, pedestrian and intellectually bankrupt handful of individuals posing as an authentic provincial leadership with the intention of tarnishing my image in the eyes of the public."
MDC-T Bulawayo spokesperson Mandla Sibanda could not be reached for comment and the party's secretary for policy and research Swithern Chirowodza declined to comment on the issue.
According to Ndebele, Magwegwe district executive members Farai Sibanda, Douglas Mwatse and Tonderai Nyamupingidza have been appointed shadow MPs for the constituency.
"I assume it's some kangaroo court that sat somewhere and arrived at that decision. Even if they had invited me to their so-called hearing l would be foolish to attend such a hearing," he said.
"They undermine my intellectual capacity. Did they expect me to waltz my way to the guillotine? I am aware of all their machinations and so are the people of Magwegwe.
"Those that suspended me are holding meetings by night plotting my downfall and have appointed shadow MPs who can't match me."
The MDC-T Bulawayo province is battling factionalism and infighting with some party members alleging that it was being stoked by tribalism.
Makokoba MP Gorden Moyo quit as MDC-T Bulawayo provincial chairperson about a fortnight ago citing violence and factionalism in the party.
