HIGHLANDERS welfare manager Willard Mashinkila Khumalo was admitted to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after he fell ill last week.

Mashinkila Khumalo did not travel with Highlanders for the Dynamos match played at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday, which the Bulawayo giants lost 0-1.

Club chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede yesterday confirmed that the Bosso legend is not feeling well and still admitted at UBH after complaining of nausea.

"He was admitted on Thursday night going into Friday at UBH. I saw him on Friday. He was at the Forester Ward, but he has since been moved into a private ward," he said.

"When I saw him on Friday he said he was feeling nauseous and he suspected it had to do with him watching a lot of World Cup matches that were starting late.

"He said his chest was blocking and he was vomiting. But when I saw him he had improved because they were saying his speech had previously become incoherent."

Gumede travelled with the team to Harare and acted as welfare manager taking care of logistics.
