A 27-YEAR-OLD Tsholotsho woman landed in trouble when she sent three offensive  text messages threatening her boyfriend's wife.

Doris Ncube appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube for violating postal and telecommunications regulations by sending offensive text mesages.

The court heard how on June, 15, Ncube sent Clarida Phiri text messages that were offensive and threatening using her mobile phone.

The message read: "Wena yekela ukuhlukuluza ubaba womntanami please or you will regret. Kawukwazi lento oyihlekayo uphithizela njenge mpethu esenyameni. Vele angifuni ukuzwa ukuthi uyabe uphuphana losa Prim uyangicakisela pliz". (Stop harassing my child's father or you will regret. You don't even know what you are laughing at; you are just like a maggot in a piece of meat. I don't want to even hear that you dream about Prim's father).

Ncube pleaded guilty to the charge and told the magistrate she was responding to Phiri who had called her earlier on.

"I sent the messages because I was responding to her call and out of anger, I retaliated. I didn't have airtime to call hence I replied her using messages," she  said.

Phiri was not called to testify but stated that she and Ncube have babies from the same man (her husband) and that the babies were of the same age.

Ncube's sentence was suspended for three years on condition she does not commit a similar crime.

Frank Ncube stood for the state.
