'Bulawayo Mayor not a King'

A Bulawayo City Council councillor Nephat Sibanda on Wednesday warned fellow city fathers to refrain from addressing the City Mayor as king.
During the full council meeting, Sibanda was annoyed by the constant referral of Mayor, Councillor Martin Moyo as king in Ndebele by certain councillors.
Councillors Mlandu and Thobani Ncube normally give their contributions in Ndebele which heavily punctuated by "Nkosi" when referring to Moyo.
In English, the mayor is usually referred as ‘Your Worship'.
On Wednesday, Sibanda apparently had enough of Councillor Mlandu Ncube's remarks and ordered him to stop.
"The mayor (Martin Moyo) is not addressed as his majesty in the chambers. Fellow councillors should know this.
"You are not King," said Sibanda who did not explain why he is against the mayor being addressed as Inkosi.
In response, Ncube vowed to continue referring to Moyo as Inkosi.
"Nkosi, some of us are very comfortable contributing in Ndebele. Nkosi i need to be educated by the Councillor (Nephat Sibanda) on how I should address you in isiNdebele," said Ncube, amid laughter in the chambers.
