Bulawayo a huge government failure - Biti

MDC Renewal Team leader Tendai Biti says President Robert Mugabe has made Bulawayo a huge museum of failure.

Adressing party supporters in Bulawayo on Sunday, Biti said Mugabe had presided over the city's de-industrialisation.

"Bulawayo is a huge monument of government failure. It used to be an industrial hub of the country but now what is left are just empty shells because of Mugabe and his misrule," Biti said.

"National Railways of Zimbabwe and Archer were some of the biggest companies in the country but they have been run to the ground."

Biti said Mugabe was the father of corruption that resulted in the country's economic collapse.

"Recently he threatened to fire corrupt ministers and accused Goodwils Masimirembwa of corruption but he never took any action," Biti said.

"It means that he presides over corruption and actually condones it."
