AN EMPLOYEE with Unique Textile Factory Company at Belmont in Bulawayo has been dragged to court for stealing clothes worth over $1300 and selling them to flea market operators, Radio Dialogue reported.
Ndabezinhle Ncube (41) of Njube in Bulawayo was not asked to plead to theft when he appeared before Bulawayo senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa.
The magistrate remanded him in custody to July 21.
The court heard that between December 2013 and July 2014, the company represented by Paradzai Muza was missing its clothing samples and it was suspected that there was an insider who was behind the theft.
On July 2 the supervisor conducted checks in the shop and discovered that clothes worth $1350,03 were missing.
The same day the supervisor visited the Flea market situated at 6th Avenue and Lobengula Street where he discovered some briefs which were being sold there were manufactured by his company.
He then questioned the Flea market attendant about the origin of the briefs and she implicated Ncube and a report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
Only property worth $661 was recovered.
