CIO shot Zanu PF official

Zanu PF Bulawayo central district chairperson Joe Chiyangwa could have been shot by members of the Central Intelligence Organisation.

Chiyangwa was shot on the leg by unknown assailants and was found lying in blood at the gate of his Burnside home.

Chiyangwa was abducted and assaulted by members of the CIO early this year over a botched deal with one of them.

He was taken to Matopos Road and was assaulted with electric cables all over the body.

After the assault, Chiyangwa was dumped outside his offices at Fidelity Building.

"Since Chiyangwa's initial fall out with the CIO, things have not been going well for him," said a Zanu PF official.

"There is high possibility that the CIO are the ones who actually shot Chiyangwa that is why he is not comfortable talking about the matter."
