Bev, Zoey too busy for Bulawayo shows

RAUNCHY dancers Bev and Zoey are not coming to Bulawayo anytime soon saying they are very busy in Harare with shows that give them more money amid revelations that Bev has increased her performance fee by 100 percent.
The raunchy dancers were last in Bulawayo last year and this year the duo has been promising to come to Bulawayo.
In separate interviews, both dancers said although they missed being in Bulawayo, it makes economic sense to be in Harare and besides they were fully booked until the end of September.
"We have not forgotten fans in Bulawayo and the Matabeleland provinces as they have been very supportive. However, we make more money when we are in Harare as demand is higher this side.
"We have been booked until September. To come to Bulawayo, we need to tour the whole region for us to make money," said Bev's manager Hapaguti "Harpers" Mapimhidze.
He said even though Bev increased her charges by 100 percent, she was still in demand in Harare.
Although Mapimhidze could not give a definite figure, sources close to the raunchy dancer said she was now charging $1,000 per performance.
Mapimhidze added there were only tentative dates for shows in Bulawayo this month.
Self proclaimed queen of pole dancing in Zimbabwe, Zoey Sifelani, said she had no idea when she would be coming to Bulawayo as no promoter in the city had contacted her.
She said apart from being inundated with shows, she was taking care of her 40 strong pole dancing students during her free time.
"I am really busy with work this side with my dance classes that teach mostly fitness and chair dancing. So really I haven't been contacted by promoters from Bulawayo for them to make bookings, but life still goes on," said Zoey.
Ever since Bev returned from her Prophet Walter Magaya sabbatical four months ago, word on the street is that her acts are wilder and more sexually suggestive than before. It seems that she has become worse after being "redeemed".
It appears that when the going is good for Bev and Zoey they milk the Harare market dry and when it becomes pear shaped they come to Bulawayo to recoup their losses, as this has happened in the past.
Promoters expressed mixed feelings over why they were not bringing in Bev or Zoey with some saying it was not yet the summer season while others said the days of raunchy dancing were over.
"None of our patrons has even whispered into our ears that they want either of them. So I don't think that we will book either of the two. Besides we are concentrating on local talent with various shows that give them a platform to launch their albums," said DJ Mzoe, entertainment manager at Club Forty40 where Bev and Zoey once performed.
He said the appetite for dance groups had since faded and their appeal was thinning.
However, Hustlers Night Club entertainment manager Simon Gama said they would soon be bringing the popular dancers to their joint.
