Zimbabwean born Rafaella Di Palma on Sunday evening took to idols auditions in Pretoria to try her luck in this year's idols auditions, South Africa's biggest reality singing competition.
Having schooled at Dominican Convent High School in Bulawayo, Di Palma caught Zimbabweans' attention on social media.
Comments awash on the Idols South Africa Facebook page suggest that Di Palma's appearance on idols had excited her former high school classmates
According to the Idols South Africa fan page, Di Palma shocked the Judges with her rap skills while the lyrics caught so much attention as to be bleeped on television.
Di Palma stood up in-front of judges, Metro FM breakfast host and established recording artiste and songwriter, Unathi Msengana, renowned judge, who every contestant loves to hate, Randall Abrahams and outspoken radio personality, Garreth Cliff, rapping American hip hop recording artist Lil Waynes' song titled A Milli. The song was released February 13 2008 as the second official single from his highly acclaimed sixth album Tha Carter III. The song won the best rap solo performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Vania Querl, one of the people who commented on Di Palma's picture, said Di Palma was a good singer.
"She can rap… don't be hating! And she is from Zimbabwe… She's da bomb!!," said Querl. Another comment written by Gugulethu Roxanne Megan Khupe said Di Palma was representing the Bulawayo based school, Dominican convent high. "Lol, made my night.. #Represent Convent," said Khupe.
After seeing comments on her picture, Di Palma said: "This is hilarious."
