IF life is measured in steps then a Bulawayo councillor for Pumula North, Ephraim Ncube, took a big step courtesy of Harare preacher and leader of the Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries Prophet Walter Magaya.
This was after he was healed from a health complication which had seen him using a wheelchair for the past five years. Clr Ncube, who had been using a wheelchair for five years due to a health complication he did not disclose to this publication, claimed that he was among a host of people who were healed recently during Prophet Magaya's two-day explosive and revival crusade in the City of Kings.
Following his miracle healing, B-Metro's switchboard was inundated with calls for the past two weeks from people who were asking if it was true that Clr Ncube was no longer using a wheelchair after he was healed by Prophet Magaya during his crusade which was held on 14 and 15 August at AmaZulu Sport Club.
There were also reports that there is a scramble for Prophet Magaya's healing powers following his miracle-filled crusade in Bulawayo.
Speaking to B-Metro, Clr Ncube, who said he had been to different prophets and traditional healers to no avail, described his healing as a "great miracle".
"It is good to be walking on my own after using a wheelchair for five years. Before I was healed by Prophet Magaya my whole body was almost shut down. I could not properly lift my arms or legs or do anything. My wife and children had to take care of everything. I was really in extreme pain but the day I went to Prophet Magaya's crusade I witnessed the wonderful work of God when I was healed.
"Just like someone who is coming from an intensive care unit you cannot fully recover on a single day since recovering is a process. The same is also happening to me I am slowly but surely recovering as I am no longer using my wheelchair.
For the meantime I am using crutches until I am fully recovered.
"I am running short of words to thank God for the miracle which he did to me through Prophet Magaya. For your own information I had been to different prophets and traditional healers but I was not healed until I met Prophet Magaya.
Plans are at an advanced stage to meet him as way of giving my testimony," he said.
Meanwhile, Prophet Magaya reportedly caused panic at some local churches following reports that their pastors allegedly threatened church members who attended the crusade with expulsion.
