A man from Bulawayo's Nketa 6 allegedly axed his son's first wife for troubling his son's second wife.
Noel Chibatwa (61) found himself at loggerheads with the law after he decided to get involved in his daughters-in-law's wars.
It is reported that Chibatwa axed his son's first wife Kulore Magola (26) after she brought a police officer to their house to arrest the second wife who had allegedly insulted her.
Chibatwa was not happy with what was happening and showed his support for the second wife by insulting Magola and the police officer.
As if that was not enough, he reportedly picked an axe and struck Magola on the arm and back. The woman sustained minor cuts and rushed to report the matter to the police leading to Chibatwa's arrest.
Chibatwa was fortunate to escape court proceedings over the matter after Magola decided to withdraw the charges saying that the issue had to be solved at family level.
He then appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube facing a charge of criminal insult arising from verbally attacking a police officer.
Chibatwa pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 30 days imprisonment or to pay $100 fine.
