MDC-T vice-president Thokozani Khupe's driver, Witness Dube, and his accomplice Kudakwashe Muchemwa (32), have been ordered to return the vehicle they violently seized from the party's former Matabeleland North chairperson Sengezo Tshabangu's driver.

Tshabangu is part of the MDC-Renewal team, which is locked in a battle for party assets with MDC-T.

Dube of Gwabalanda and Muchemwa of Old Luveve in Bulawayo reportedly hijacked the Isuzu vehicle that was being driven by Tshabangu's driver Lameck Ndlovu on May 26.

Ndlovu, his companions Zacharia Nkomo, Sage Mguni and Tshabangu filed an urgent High Court chamber application at the Bulawayo High Court seeking the return of the vehicle.

The High Court in June ruled in their favour ordering that the vehicle be returned.

Last Thursday, Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Andrew Mutema confirmed the judgment declaring that the seizure of the vehicle by the two was illegal.

The civil lawsuit cited Dube and Muchemwa as the first and second respondents respectively.

In his June judgment, Justice Mutema had indicated that Dube and Muchemwa's seizure of the vehicle from Ndlovu through the use of force and violence was unlawful.

Last week, Justice Mutema confirmed his order as valid and effective considering the fact that when the application was brought to court Dube and Muchemwa did not enter an appearance to defend themselves.
