Banda elected MDC-T Bulawayo chairperson

Bulawayo deputy mayor Gift Banda brushed off competition from Dorcas Sibanda to land the MDC-T Bulawayo Provincial chairship in a provincial elective congress marred by violence at Makokoba's Stanley Square in the city on Saturday.

Sibanda has been in an acting capacity after Makokoba legislator Gorden Moyo who was chairperson crossed the floor to the renewal team.

Party president Morgan Tsvangirai reportedly accredited some of the delegates to the congress after a sinister plot was hatched to turn away Mpopoma-Pelandaba and Magwegwe districts delegates as they were told they were not eligible.
