Moyo sucked into Grace Mugabe rally case

BULAWAYO Provincial Affairs minister Eunice Nomthandazo Sandi Moyo has been sucked into a Zanu-PF member's court case in which the accused is alleged to have disrupted the First Lady Grace Mugabe's "meet the people rally" at Amazulu Sports Ground in Bulawayo on October 15.
This emerged when Emmanuel Muzorera (34) from Gweru appeared before Bulawayo senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa yesterday when the trial was supposed to take off.
But the matter was further postponed to today after it emerged in court that there was a letter which Moyo had written in connection with Muzorera's case and the State, represented by Danmore Kasenza, wanted the letter unveiled in court before the trial kicks off.
Last week Muzorera had pleaded guilty to picking the microphone from the podium without permission, but denied the claims he intended to disrupt the meeting in so doing.
Msipa entered a plea of not guilty as a result, prompting the need to have a full trial conducted to prove if he did not intend to disturb the meeting as he claimed.
Kasenza told the court that on October 15 this year at 3pm, Muzorera was among the crowd of people who attended Grace's rally at Amazulu.
Muzorera allegedly stood up and moved from the crowd to the podium, where he picked the microphone without permission.
He was arrested by Emmanuel Gundukayi, a police constable on duty.
