The city of Bulawayo has called for nominations for 120 Iconic Bulawayo Citizens who will be documented as part of celebrations for the city's 120th anniversary.
On Tuesday, mayor Martin Moyo said residents were expected to suggest who they thought should constitute the 120 Bulawayo Iconic Citizens list.
"The people who will be nominated and what they have done will be accessed and at the end, only 120 people will qualify into the list. This means that we will then document and display for public consumption what they have done and what has made them become part of the list," he said.
The city celebrated 120 years of existence on June 1.
Bulawayo, the second largest city in the country, attained its town status and had its advisory board set up in 1894.
Moyo said the invitation to contribute towards the identification of the 120 iconic citizens extends to everyone who is a citizen of Bulawayo.
"We kindly request the public to help us identify these iconic individuals, and also explain why they think they are worthy to be Bulawayo icons," he said.
