Kaindu's car suspected to have rolled twice

TRIANGLE Football Club technical advisor Kelvin Kaindu who was involved in car accident yesterday morning about 30km outside Zvishavane and escaped with no physical injuries said it could have been worse.

The former Highlanders coach who assumed the technical advisor's role at Triangle Football Club this week, was on his way to Bulawayo for a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Chicken Inn.

He was driving an Opel Astra and was travelling alone at the time.

Southern Eye Sport caught up with Kaindu who appeared shaken by the accident, soon after the match at Hartsfield Rugby Grounds.

"I don't know what to say," he said.

"It's by the Grace of God that I am fine. It could have been worse. The car swerved a bit and lost balance. I tried to pull it back on track, but it was already on the gravel so it was difficult.

"Physically and spiritually I am OK. I have received so many messages from people wanting to know how I am."

Kaindu's friend David Simba said the coach was in a stable condition, but he was due to go for further medical check-up yesterday evening.

"He has been cleared by the doctor who took tests in the afternoon (yesterday). He said Kaindu was OK, but he would go for X-rays this evening (yesterday) so that they check if there are any internal injuries. The X-ray results should be ready tomorrow (today)," he said.

Simba had earlier said it is suspected the car rolled twice.

"Villagers came to help, before the team's (Triangle) secretary-general Abraham Chinemaringa, who was travelling behind him, arrived at the scene," he said.
