Sex worker gang raped

THE three men who allegedly gang raped a prostitute on Monday at their place of residence in Bulawayo's New Lobengula suburb have been arrested.

Prince Sibanda, 19, Simbarashe Makamure, 19, and his brother Moses Makamure, 23, appeared before magistrate Willard Moyo yesterday facing rape charges.

They were not asked to plead and were remanded to November 26.

Prosecuting, Mclean Ndlovu said the trio raped the prostitute, 17, who was known to them, at their place of residence in New Lobengula.

The court heard that Simbarashe and Sibanda approached the prostitute, grabbed her and carried her to their place of residence.

At the house, the two assaulted her all over the body with fists and booted feet.

While Simbarashe and Sibanda were assaulting her, Moses entered the room and joined in the assault, the court heard.

The trio kept her in their room until 4AM the following morning when they took turns in raping her.

Simbarashe grabbed the girl, pulled her onto the bed and raped her once while Sibanda and Moses stood guard, awaiting their turn.

After he was done, Sibanda raped the prostitute while the brothers were watching. Moses was the last to rape her.

They freed her after the rape.

The girl immediately went to the police and reported the matter.
