A BULAWAYO man has been dragged to court after he allegedly got drunk, stripped in front of a two-year-old girl and lay with her on the floor while her mother watched in horror.
Bennie Cledwin Frank, 53, of North End suburb, yesterday appeared before Bulawayo provincial magistrate Sibongile Msipa facing public indecency charges.
He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay $50 bail or spend 15 days in prison.
"You worship I know intoxication shouldn't be my excuse but l was drunk. I don't have the $50 with me but my wife is here may you allow her to pay for me," said Frank.
"Next time don't drink if you cannot control yourself. Wife next time he gets drunk don't pay his bail!" retorted Msipa.
Prosecuting, Charles Danda told the court that on Saturday at around 1.30PM, Ntandoyenkosi Moyo, 18, of Cowdray Park was sitting in her living room watching television with her cousin, Concilia Nyoni while her daughter was sleeping on the floor.
"Frank entered the living room and sat on the couch without a word," said Danda.
It was not disclosed to the court the reason why Frank was at Moyo's residence.
The court heard that Frank then complained that he was feeling hot and needed some fresh air.
"He suddenly removed the three quarter pants he was wearing remaining half undressed," said Danda.
He told the court Frank removed the rest of his clothes and lay next to the two-year-old girl who was sleeping on the floor.
A shell-shocked Moyo ran to the bedroom to inform her sister, Nothando Sibanda who came rushing and found Frank lying undressed next to the toddler.
Sibanda instructed Moyo to take photographs of Frank stretched out nude on the floor.
Moyo then called the owner of the house, Stephen Tigere Mutizwa who then reported the matter to the police leading to Frank's arrest.
