IMBIBERS at Enkundleni Bottle Store in Emganwini, Bulawayo were treated to some free drama when a man drew out a sword after receiving a serious hiding from his assailant on Sunday.
Kennedy Ndlovu, who could not stomach a battering from an unidentified man, had people scurrying for cover when he came back allegedly brandishing a sword threatening to kill his nemesis.
"Ndlovu was involved in an argument with a man who had come to participate in tug of war competitions at Enkundleni Open Space. The guy assaulted Ndlovu with fists as well as open hands on the face offering Ndlovu no chance to retaliate," said a source.
Ndlovu could not stomach the beating as he went to search of a weapon.
"With onlookers sensing that it was a one sided affair and their local boy was on the receiving end, they restrained the guy. However, the beating did not go down well with Ndlovu who vanished from the scene and came back brandishing a sword and no one knows where he got it from.
"Unfortunately when he came back the guy had already gone and Ndlovu was left to only demonstrate how he would have revenged his assault with the sword. However, he was quickly disarmed by some patrons and handed over to the police," said the source.
