A BULAWAYO man who allegedly stormed into his tenant's bedroom undressed before fond1ing her has claimed that the two had an affair and occasionally engaged in sex.

Mickton Rujini, 46, of Mzilikazi suburb, said he was having an affair with his tenant, Hilda Mpofu, 56,  while his wife was away in Tsholotsho.

"I wasn't drunk, I remember Mpofu opened her bedroom window while undressed that very night. I got aroused and proceeded to her bedroom and entered without force," said Rujini.

"If I was a threat to her she could have screamed to alert our neighbours but she didn't. My wife  was asleep in my bedroom she can even testify that no one screamed."

Bulawayo provincial magistrate Charity Maphosa remanded the matter to Monday next week for continuation of trial.

Rujini is facing an indecent assault charge and initially pleaded not guilty two weeks ago.

Prosecuting, Nathaniel Mutsikwa said on January 17, this year, at around 10PM, Mpofu was asleep in her bedroom when she was awakened by Rujini who was banging on her bedroom window shouting, "Ndiri ndega MaPhiri" (I'm alone MaPhiri).

"Rujini proceeded to her bedroom door and he unlocked her door using an unknown object," said Mutsikwa.

Mpofu was bewildered by Rujini who entered the room completely undressed and grabbed her waist with both hands, said Mutsikwa.

The court heard that a drunken Rujini attempted to push her to the floor but she wrestled him.

Mpofu managed to push him out of the bedroom to the sitting room and an un dressed Rujini lost his balance and fell onto the couch, the court heard.

She reported the matter at Mzilikazi Police Station, leading to his arrest.
