Mphoko responds to cake donation

Below is a statement sent by a reader claiming to be Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko's associate responding to a story we published yesterday that the Vice President donated two cakes measuring two metres each towards President Robert Mugabe's birthday celebrations.

The cakes that were seen being off loaded from a Choppies truck at the scene in Victoria Falls, were not donated by VP Mphoko, or by Choppies.

The Choppies truck was hired to deliver the cakes. However Choppies donated its own cake. Not those you are referring to.

You have criticised Mphoko for almost everything including his slogan of Dura re wisdom.
But you have said nothing to the more than 20 cars and other appliances that he has given to ordinary Bulawayo people as a donation.

You have not complained about his slogan "PHAMBILI LO NKULUNKULU, "PHAMBILI LE NDODANA, "PHAMBILI LO MOYA OYINCWELE.
