Two security guards at Club Royal in Makokoba - Bulawayo have been locked up after they allegedly killed one of the patrons who were fighting inside the club in a process of trying to quell the fight.
Ronnie Mandizha (36) of Old Pumula and Ndabezinhle Masuku (29) of Cowdray Park in Bulawayo were not asked to plead to a charge of murder when they appeared before Bulawayo Senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa Marondedze.
The magistrate remanded them in custody to March 3.
The court heard that on February 1, this year the two were on duty at Makokoba's Club Royal manning the entrance when two patrons who are not identified yet in the court record as the police are still preparing the state outline started fighting inside the club.
The two security guards advanced towards the fighters before holding one of them who is the now deceased and allegedly indiscriminately assaulted him on his stomach. He sustained some internal injuries and later died as a result of the assault.
A report made to the police led to the arrest of the two security guards.
