BCC close J.M Nkomo Street

BULAWAYO CITY COUNCIL has closed the whole of J.M Nkomo Street to pave way for rehabilitation works by Group Five.
The street was recently gazetted to reflect its change from Main Street.
Group Five is a South Africa based firm contracted to rebuild the Plumtree-Mutare highway and other inlay roads.
Acting chamber secretary, Sikhangele Zhou said the rehabilitation will run from today (March 11) to the 31st.
"Group Five is rehabilitating J.M Nkomo Street from 1st To 15th Avenue. Work on the construction of J.M Nkomo Street will commence on the 11th of March and is expected to be complete by the 31st of March 2015.
"As part of the rehabilitation process this section of the road will be partially closed during the construction period. For your convenience, please use Jason Moyo, Fort Street or the alternative routes.
Zhou urged motorists to "obey traffic signs at all times. Heavy construction equipment is dangerous. Instructions being issued by flagman should be obey for motorist safety."
