Company director up for forgery involving $13 500

The Co- director of Full Scap Investment trading as a car dealing company situated at corner Robert Mugabe Way and 12 Avenue in Bulawayo is in trouble after he fraudulently withdrew $13 500 from a the company's account in which he and the other co-director are signatories by forging his colleague's signature on the withdrawal slips.
Philip Matutu (39) of South World in Bulawayo pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Bulawayo senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa Marondedze. The magistrate further remanded him for sentence.
The prosecutor Charles Danda told the court that July 29, 2013 the co- director who is not stated in the court papers sold a Toyota Prado to one Bekezela Moyo for $18 000. Moyo was to deposit the money into the company's account.
On August 5, 2013, Matutu went to the CBZ bank in Belmont and completed withdrawal slip withdrawing $13500 before forging his co director's signature on the slip purpo5rting that he had endorsed the withdrawal. HE then handed the slip to the bank clerk before he was given $13 500.
The offence was discovered when the co-director (complainant) asked Matutu to go with him to the bank. He discovered that there has been a withdrawal and his signature was forged on the withdrawal slip.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Matutu.
