A 43-year-old Bulawayo man was reported to have stormed into his neighbour's bedroom and found the neighbour in the comfort of his wife, the man apparently went on to propose love to the neighbour's wife in the presence of the husband. He claimed he wanted her to be his second wife.

He went on to attack the woman's husband. He strangled him before striking him with bricks on the head several times.

This drama which is still the talk of Killarney suburb is at Number 161 along Shirley Road.

It is reported that on 8 August Baise Nyoni was in bed with his wife, perhaps enjoying the Heroes Holiday when Nkululeko Lionell Mathe arrived and forcibly opened their bedroom door.

When Mathe gained entry into the complainant's love paradise, he reportedly found the two lovebirds cuddling each other.

Nyoni's wife having been disturbed by the accused person's movements is alleged to have woken up and found the latter "standing in their bedroom before proposing love to her saying he wanted her to be his second wife.

After receiving the news of the alleged proposal of leasing her husband's goodies to another man, the wife is reported to have woken up her husband who was fast asleep, unaware of the 'dethroning' drama that was transpiring in his bedroom. When the complainant woke up, the accused person who was reportedly seething with excessive jealousy grabbed Nyoni's neck and strangled him.

The daring Mathe, conceivably in a desperate bid to eliminate the complainant so that he would take over his wife went on to take a piece of brick which he used to repeatedly strike the complainant on the head. The complainant reportedly sustained painful injuries.

Nyoni, after the brutal assault, went and reported the matter to the police leading to Mathe's arrest.

Mathe was last week brought before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Nonkululeko Mkhonto facing assault charges as defined in section 89 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.

He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to tomorrow. Mr Shepherd Nhamburo appeared for the State.
