Woman nearly loses nose to daring robber

A 19 YEAR OLD woman who is a vendor in the city nearly lost her nose to a daring robber who attacked her and snatched her mobile phone and cash when she grabbed the man calling for public assistance to apprehend him.
This was heard by a Bulawayo magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa when Albert Moyo (37) appeared before him charged with robbery.
He was pleading not guilty to the charge and the magistrate remanded him in custody to April 14 for the start of a trial.
This was after he requested for the postponement of the case citing that the state has not availed its papers to him so that he can be able to read and defend himself.
"Your worship I have not yet been served with the state papers so that I am able to defend my case," said Moyo.
"I am asking the court to postpone the case so that the state gives me its papers as it is I am not ready to defend myself."
The magistrate considered his plea and further remanded the case. The prosecutor Munyonga Kuvarega told the court that on March 23, this year at 11pm the complainant Sikholiwe Dube of Cowdrey Park in Bulawayo was walking along 6th avenue in the company of friend when Moyo who was in the company of his friends as well approached her.
Moyo allegedly stole her mobile phone and cash amounting to $12 which were in her pocket before Dube grabbed him by his hands.
In the process of grabbing him Moyo allegedly through the loot to his accomplices who were not arrested who fled with the mobile phone and cash. Dube allegedly remained grabbing him calling for public intervention and that is when Moyo bite her nose before beating her up on the face but that did not deter her from holding him.
Some members of the public came to her rescue and arrested Moyo whom they led to the police station.
