Betting on fading Bulawayo giants Highlanders FC proved costly for a Cowdray Park man, Thomas Ndlovu after he was kicked out of the his matrimonial house by his bitter wife as he lost the bet.
Last week, Ndlovu used $300 belonging to his wife Duduzile Mathe to bet on Highlanders beating Chapungu.
However, Bosso lost to the Gweru side.
That incensed Mathe who wasted no time in kicked Ndlovu out of their house.
He is now sleeping in the car.
Ndlovu lost to his friend known as Mangoma who took home a cool tax free $600.
According to B-Metro, based on an eye witness account, Elvis Moyo "Ndlovu and Mangoma took to Barbourfields Stadium where they gambled a stake of $600 for the Bosso - Chapungu football encounter during which Ndlovu emerged the loser after Highlanders fell ton Chapungu."
Moyo who was entrusted to keep the money was surprised to hear Ndlovu demanding his money back immediately after the game.
"Ndlovu came to me after the game had just ended. He told me he needed his money back. I asked Ndlovu what his problem was. He told me the money belonged to his wife. His wife was not aware of the deal.
"Ndlovu persisted that I should give him half of the money but I refused as that was not part of the agreement."
Ndlovu on his part said "I blame myself for inviting trouble. I have been sleeping in the car for two days as I cannot cool down my wife's temper."
Mangoma said he was not prepared to bail his friends out as it was a fair deal.
