Man assaults neighbour, claiming she's killing people with her AIDS

A MAN FROM Gumtree in Bulawayo is in trouble after he attacked his female neighbour with clenched fists and booted feet accusing her of killing other people with her AIDS.

Roderick Nyathi (26) was not asked to plead to assault charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Msipa Marondedze . The magistrate remanded him out of custody to April 24 for trial.

The court heard that between April 18, 2015 and 19 Nyathi assaulted his female neighbour who cannot be named to protect his HIV and AIDS status with clenched fists and booted feet. He further verbally abused her by saying, "You must get away with your AIDS that is why you have killed many people.

The woman was later taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for treatment. A report made to the police led to Nyathi's arrest.
