Man rapes grand daughter, gives her $2 token

A 70-YEAR-OLD man from Magwegwe suburb has been dragged to court for allegedly raping his 15-year-old grand daughter on three occasions and giving her $2 as token of appreciation.

This came to light when the man appeared before the Western Commonage magistrate Willard Mafios Moyo facing four counts of indecent assault and rape.

He was further remanded.

In his defence, the man denied the rape charges only to admit to indecent assault charges.

"I did not rape her," he said.

"I only touched her and it was just a temptation from the devil. I wouldn't have rape my granddaughter," he added.

On count one, it is reported that the girl went to sleep leaving her grandfather on a couch who then followed her to propose love.

After he was spurned, the man snatched out a $2 note and gave it to her before forcibly touching her.

On count two, the girl came from school and found her grandfather alone in the house who then pushed her on to the floor and raped her once.

On count three, the girl's grandmother left her in the house as she proceeded to an all-night prayer when her grandfather took advantage and sneaked into her bedroom where he raped her.

On count four, he gave her another $2 note and forcible touched her breasts before kissing her.

Prosecutor Nomzamo Ndlovu told the court that after all these counts; the juvenile sent her grandfather a text message that read: "Your days are Numbered".

In panic, the old man went to report the matter to the police station thinking her granddaughter had poisoned him.
