Hubby keeps an axe under matrimonial bed

A Cowdray Park woman is apparently having sleepless nights because her husband keeps an axe under their matrimonial bed.

The woman, Similo Moyo told the court that her husband Chasasa Kanyonganise is in a habit of keeping an axe under their bed and she now fears that he might axe her.

Kanyonganise is said to also routinely assault his wife, the latest being on April 28.

Now Moyo is seeking a protecting order, B-Metro reported.

"My husband is very violent and has on several occasions verbally and physically abused me.

"The latest being on 28 April when he viciously assaulted me with fits and open hands. He doesn't respect me as his wife,"

"As if that is not enough he sleeps with an axe under the bed which he is using to threaten me with during domestic arguments. I no longer feel safe and I am afraid that he might live true to his threats."

On his part, Kanyonganise did not deny having an axe under his bed and begged the court for forgiveness.

"I want my wife to forgive me. I won't do it again," he said while holding his wife's hands.
