Political analyst and journalist Methuseli Moyo said Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko must be advised to stop halucinating that President Robert MUgabe was not involved in the Gukurahundi masacres as that will not change the known fact on the ground.

"Can someone please talk to Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko to stop his "Mugabe not to blame for Gukurahundi" thing before he causes serious problems for Zimbabweans," said Moyo.

"For a man of his age and office, he must be striving for truth, reconciliation, and possibly compensation for the victims than to be offensive and defensive. Why does the honourable VP delegate himself the task of speaking for Mugabe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Parence Shiri and other Gukurahundi actors when they themselves have chosen to be quiet about it?"

He said finally, the VP must remember that he runs a thriving supermarket chain business in Bulawayo, and his political statements may soon backfire spectacularly.

Vimash Green said Mphoko needs to shut up while Jethro Dube described him as a sellout.

Somnandi Ndlovu said the man (Mphoko) has just fitted well in Enos Nkala's shoes (the biggest sell-out).

Casper Ngwenya said anyone will defend his party as long as Zanu-PF is in power there is no need to question anyone about Gukurahundi because nobody will ever take action against Zanu-PF.

"Mugabe is to blame and some of the Zipra cadres need to be blamed too because they fought hiding in Matabeleland  causing people to be killed," he said.

"Honestly speaking Zipra was full of cowards. What is it that was achieved by Zipra? Even Joshua Nkomo ended up running away wearing a skirt. Most of the Zipra cadres ran to South Africa during war. Only less than four guys played a big role for Zipra during armed struggle, those were Gayigusu Thambolenyoka etc. If these Zipras was not fighting while hiding Zanla would have been defeated."

Ollu Ncube said "think this man (Mphoko) does not value his position or elevation to the post to put the point straight, otherwise if it is pro Jonathan Mayo who is brave and knows his values he was not going to vomit like this old man."

Dumisani Muleya a journalist said in term of Holocaust laws in Germany, anyone who seeks to explain away, obfuscate or deny the atrocities is effectively deemed and treated as an accomplice.

"That's Mphoko's tragedy here even though such laws may not exist here yet. The more he denies clearly established facts and the truth (when perpetrators are actually not) the more he gets hopelessly entangled in the bloody mess as a dishonest accomplice. Besides, this shows some politicians have no qualms or shame about walking on top of corpses of their own people in to office and its trappings," he said.
