Eveline High School unleash debt collectors

Eveline High School in Bulawayo through its School Development Association is set to unleash debt collectors to owing parents and guardians.
The association seek to recover fees date backing to January 2009.
"Eveline High School Development Association is inviting applications from prospective Debt Collectors, who wish to assist the school trace and collect outstanding fees and levies from owing parents and guardians for the period 1 January 2009 to December 2014", reads part of the notice.
The deadline for submissions is on 30 May 2015.
It is not clear how much is being owed.
Recently, Mzingwane High Schools also inviting bids for debt collection services.
With the economic challenges in Zimbabwe, more and more schools are engaging the services of debt collectors in an attempt to recover school fees arrears.
There has been incidences where some debt collectors engaged by schools are allegedly demanding livestock as payment.
Debt collectors are well known for harassing parents when ever they are collecting their dues.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Lazarus Dokora last year directed schools not to chase children for non-payment of fees. He, however, gave schools the green light to use traditional and civil courts to recover money owed to them by parents and guardians.
In many cases when parents are handed to debt collectors, a $500 court fee and messenger of court costs is added to the bill.
