A Cowdray Park woman who was caught engaging in sex on her employer's new $50 blanket has appeared in court.

The ex-housemaid, Violet Hove who was  reportedly was dragged to the Small Claims court by her former boss Jessica Dube demanding $50 as payment for the "soiled" blanket.

Dube told the presiding magistrate, Victor Mpofu: "Your worship, I'm claiming $50 as payment for the blanket that she used with her boyfriend in my house. The incident happened in March this year. She was not expecting me home when I showed up at around 4PM because I usually come home late. When I walked in on them, they quickly jumped out of my child's bedroom, took a dress and fled."

"She never came back to my place since that time. I had already paid her $80 as her salary. Ever since that day she has not reported for work. She even left her clothes. I tried to contact her but to no avail. I want her to take that blanket and pay me $50 because I cannot sell it to anyone," she said.

Hove confessed to having used the blanket and told the court that she was scared to go back to work after the incident.

"Your worship, I went back to my rural home in Masvingo after the incident because I was scared to go back.

"I'm sorry for what I did and I promise I will pay the money as soon as I get it. I only started work two weeks back.

"When my employers pay me, I will immediately come and pay for the blanket. I'm pleading with you to allow me to come and get my clothes which I left at your place," Hove said.

Dube told her ex-maid she will only allow her to collect her clothes once she pays her for the "soiled" blanket.

Magistrate Mpofu ordered Hove to pay back Dube's money by the end of June.
