Bulawayo City Council has come under fire for announcing that the Minister of Local Government Public Works and Natinal Housing has approved the clamping and towing of away of vehicles who violate the city by laws.

Residents lashed out at the council stating that its parking fees is too high.

Methuseli Moyo said, "Your parking fees are too high. I would rather risk and dodge your officers than pay $36 just for parking."

Bekezela Ncube described the move as daylight robbery.

"Every institution now look at the general public and they see possible income ....Things Fall Apart," he said

Gift Ndebele said, "Too expensive, please also caution your officers from erratic, irresponsible & reckless clamping. Also work on providing adequate parking in the inner city."

Joseph Maphosa said: "this is just a ripe off you can't hire guys where by I just pay for parking my car. You  are making a lot of money through us drivers we are the second Capital city but Gweru council is doing a greater job that u guys."

Bokani Dube said he "would rather park along Herbert Chitepo street or 13th avenue and further were parking is free. this is day light robbery!!!"

Alfa Ndlovu said this instrument needs to be supported by enough parking at major service e.g. medical centres, government offices, China shops etc for staff and clients. "As it stands residents and visitors may be short change," he said.
