Hillside College opens secondary teacher education 2016 intake
HILLSIDE TEACHERS' COLLEGE
VACANCIES FOR SECONDARY TEACHER EDUCATION 2016 INTAKE
a) 2-Year Post 'A' Level Course
b) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in Physical Education and Sports
c) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in French and English
d) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in Science
Applications are invited from those interested to train as secondary school teachers in 2016. General Requirements for all Courses
5 'O' Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and the subject of study.
a) 2-Year Post 'A' Level Course
- 5 'O' Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
- 2 'A' Level passes in the teaching subjects offered.
NB: The following 'A' Level subjects are NOT offered as teaching subjects at the college: Divinity, Sociology and Psychology.
- Candidates wishing to train as Commercial teachers should have passed 'A' Level in Accounts and at least either Economics or Business Studies.
- 'A' Level holders who are fluent in Portuguese may train as Portuguese teachers while those with Art & Design and Music aptitudes may train to be Art and Music teachers.
- Candidates wishing to train as Science teachers should have passed at least 2 'A' Level Science subjects.
b) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in Physical Education and Sports
- Candidates wishing to train as Physical Education and Sports teachers should have 'O' Level Science over and above the stipulated general requirements.
- Also, they should have attempted any two 'A' Level subjects.
c) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in French/English
- Candidates interested in training as French and English teachers should have 'O' Level French over and above the stipulated general requirements.
d) 3-Year Post 'O' Level Course in Science
'O' Level Science subjects which have been listed in order of priority.
- Physical Science
- Extended Science
- Combined Science
- Physics or Chemistry
