ARTS, Sports and Culture Minister Andrew Langa is beginning a second week in hospital today after undergoing surgery last week.
The Insiza North MP underwent surgery at the Catholic-run Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo last Wednesday.
His ailment was unknown, but his office yesterday said he was "talking and recovering well."
The Minister was not responding to calls to his mobile phone yesterday.
In a brief statement, his office said: "Minister Langa underwent successful surgery on Wednesday, July 15, after being taken ill.
"The Minister is talking and recovering well. Doctors have detained him to monitor his recovery and he should be discharged this week.
"He looks forward to resuming his ministerial and constituency duties in a short space of time."
