Man in trouble for $5 and cellphone robbery

A man from Makokoba is in trouble after he robbed a drinking mate $5 and a cellphone worth $20 at Madlodlo beer garden in Bulawayo.

Cabangani Moyo (27) of Cowdrey Park was not asked to plead to robbery when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa.

The magistrate further remanded him for trial.

The court heard that on June 27 at 7pm the complainant Melusi Sibanda was at Madlodlo beer garden when he met Moyo.

When Sibanda left the beer garden to go home, Moyo followed and on the way he pounced on him assaulting him on the leg with a stick.

Sibanda fell down and Moyo searched him and took $5 and a cellphone. Nothing was recovered.

A report made to the police led to Moyo's arrest.
