A shadowy organisation - the MARXIST GROUP is backing planned weekend protests in Bulawayo against sex filled Vuzu parties hosted by scores of school students.
Several students have been arrested for hosting the parties characterised by unrestrained sexual encounters, fuelled by boozes and drugs.
They are hosted mainly by students whose parents are in the diaspora.
"The countrywide demonstrations this coming weekend by the workers and churches in Bulawayo against Vuzu parties, this is in line with our Red October campaign theme "Peoples Power in Action to defeat dictatorship" said the group in a statement seen by Bulawayo24.
"The ruling party has destroyed our social fabric, due to its bad economic policies. Thousands of families are now headed by children whose parents are in the Diaspora.
"Due to lack of parental guidance, these children have now introduced what is called Vuzu parties in their homes. Students are now dropping off from school to join others in alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and getting involved in sex groups in these Vuzu parties.
"We join the rest of society in condemning this new tendency and make clarion call that unless the Zimbabwean society unites behind a scientific party of the revolution, overthrowing the regime, our society will collapse."
In July, police arrested 16 pupils from four schools in Bulawayo for conducting "vuzu parties' at a house in Cowdray Park where they allegedly abused alcohol while engaging in sex orgies.
Condoms were discovered at the scene. Police also recovered bottles of whisky, dagga and a widely abused cough syrup with high alcohol content, Broncleer, popularly known as Bronco following the raid.
With schools having closed today, more Vuzu parties are expected during the holidays.
