Cop beaten up while attempting to flee accident scene

A POLICE officer was thoroughly beaten by motorists in Bulawayo after he tried to flee an accident scene.
This was after police chased a private car which was loading people at Amakhosi Centre this morning.
The un-identified cop was driving a police defender, it is not clear why he tried to flee the accident scene since he is from the Traffic section.
"I heard people saying a police defender was chasing a Kombi. l did not get whole story. The fire brigade is trying to pull out a twin cab that fell in the bridge and a 2 year old baby is trapped inside the Twin cab that fell in the bridge. The road has also been closed," said an eyewitness.
Others said, the Isuzu vehicle was fleeing the police but plunged into a river
