Willard Khumalo dies

Highlanders FC legend and former Warriors player Willard Mashinkila Khumalo has died.
Bulawayo24.com understands Khumalo died in the early hours of Sunday morning in a Bulawayo hospital, where he has been hospitalised since Wednesday, after a long battle with diabetes.
He had been in and out of hospital in recent months.
Willard Khumalo starred for Highlanders in the 1980s, playing alongside such greats as Tito Paketh, Titus Majola, Madinda Ndlovu, Peter Nkomo and Mercedes 'Rambo' Sibanda, among others.
He was a member of Reinhard Fabisch's dream team that came 90 minutes away from qualifying for the 1994 World Cup.
He is survived by wife, Nozipho Nkomo and four children.
Mashinkila's mother, Maud Ngwenya said her son loved football and his death is a great loss to the family, sentiments shared by daughter, Nomakhosi, who described his late father as a jovial man.
