A Bulawayo man is living in fear after a married businessman whom he alleges is having a love affair with his wife, allegedly told him he was connected to Zanu-PF and threatened to make him disappear.
Kudakwashe Chitemere, a franchisee with a leading mobile communication service provider, has allegedly been bedding Petronella Moyo, a married mother of one since 2013.
Petronella, who is based in South Africa, is married to Last Moyo of Famona.
Last night she was not answering her mobile phone and someone sent a message to her husband that she was threatening to commit suicide by jumping from a high rise building.
Chitemere allegedly sent a series indecent pictures of himself to Petronella and messages via WhatsApp which The Chronicle is in possession of.
He promised to come to The Chronicle newsroom with his lawyer to comment on the story yesterday morning, but had not done so by the time of going to print. Instead, two men came to our newsroom in the afternoon claiming to be acting on behalf of Chitemere and pleading for the story to be killed.
Moyo said yesterday that he asked Chitemere to stop his affair with his wife. Chitemere, Moyo said, threatened to make him disappear if he continued pestering him over the alleged affair.
"I discovered that Kudakwashe Chitemere, a married man who is a boss at a mobile service provider at Leopold Takawira and Ascot branches, was having an adulterous relationship with my wife in 2013," said Moyo.
"I appealed to Chitemere to leave my wife alone as she was married, but to this day my pleas have fallen on deaf ears. In the two years of anguish he has taken us through, I've tried every trick in the book to appeal to his conscience, but he's not a human being but a sex beast that charges even at married women with no shame."
He said his worst nightmare was when he recently saw Chitemere and his wife doing it in a car at Umguza Nature Reserve.
Moyo said as he approached them, they saw his car and sped off semi dressed in a Toyota Hilux, registration number ACB 6804.
"I tried to give chase to no avail and eventually gave up. But even after this incident, Chitemere has continued to WhatsApp my wife telling her that he is completing his divorce papers and she must be patient. In the same message he sent my wife pictures of his house in Famona saying "Your palace my love. I can't wait the Queen here (sic)," he said.
Moyo said he had pleaded with Chitemere on numerous occasions but he "continued sending more messages as a lecherous horny ghost! He has no soul and honestly I'm surprised that he is married!"
He said when he told Chitemere that he would make the issue public, the businessman told his wife to tell him that there would be consequences.
"He said he is well connected politically and I'll disappear with no trace. Chitemere said he is very rich with mines in Zvishavane and real estate across the country and can easily deal with me because I'm a very small fish in his world," said Moyo.
He said he was living in fear as Chitemere seemed determined to destroy his marriage and snatch his wife.
"My only option was that I make this public through the Press as I now fear for my life. A number of times I've been followed by shadowy characters in cars and on foot even out of the country. I feel insecure, powerless, and vulnerable," said Moyo.
