Funeral service held for 'Jarzin Man'

A funeral service for the late former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation presenter, Lazarus Tembo, who died last month in the United Kingdom, has been held at a local parlour in Harare.
Tembo died on the 24th of last month after battling with cancer of the blood.
Tembo's body arrived in the country on Thursday and will be buried on Monday in Bulawayo.
'Lazzie T' as he was popularly known by the then Radio 2 listeners, used to present an advertorial quiz programme, "Jarzin Man" in the 1980s and 1990s.
Family spokesperson Pastor Simba Woloza says the late Tembo's body will be taken to Bulawayo on Saturday for burial on Monday.
"Lazzie's death is a huge blow to our family. We have been robbed off a loving and caring person," said family member Stephen Tembo.
Colleagues who worked with him at the ZBC John Masuku and Josephine Njenje describe the late Lazzie T as a person who raised broadcasting standards to higher levels.
"He was a flexible man who would do any programme from news reading to entertaining without a challenge," Njenje said.
Tembo leaves behind wife Edna and two children Norma and Lewis.
Mourners are gathered at House Number 4, 15th Avenue, Village 2 PPC in Bulawayo.
