WHOEVER coined the words "an idle mind is the devil's workshop" seems to have had two men from Queens Park East suburb in Bulawayo in mind who were arrested for indecent assault after they allegedly lifted the legs of a 38-year-old female fellow imbiber, in a botched attempt to remove her trousers.
Allegations against the unemployed duo of Hezel Dick (20) and Gabriel Batshesi of Number 5, Herrick Road and Number 8 Murr Road respectively, are that they indecently assaulted a fellow imbiber Glynis Helena Keyser.
The two accused persons and the complainant know each other as they used to drink together in Queens Park West.
It is reported that the complainant was coming from her mother's place when she met the two accused persons along Airport Road in Queens Park East suburb.
The two inquisitive imbibers reportedly asked the complainant where she was going during that time and she told them that she was going to her place of residence in Riverside.
The trio, after a chat, started to walk together along Airport Road heading towards the city centre.
When they got to a bus stop in Romney Park, the two accused persons allegedly started to pull the complainant's legs trying to remove her top and trousers.
The helpless complainant was wrestling with the two men until a motorist who was driving along the road came to her rescue. The complainant, after the ugly scene, went and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the two accused persons.
The duo appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Sithembile Ncube charged with contravening Section 67 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter9:23 (indecent assault).
They were remanded out of custody on $30 bail Mr Ttusi Muduma prosecuted.
