Man in court for possession of 440g of mbanje

A MAN from Mpopoma in Bulawayo has been dragged to court for possession of 440 grams of mbanje, drugs which are not licenced by the Medical Control council of Zimbabwe and trying to bribe the police.
Dalglish Simbai (34) pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya. The magistrate further remanded him for sentence.
The court heard that on September 20 this year police officers were patrolling at Congo Beer Garden in Mpopoma when they saw him and searched him only to discover he had 440grams of mbanje. The illegal drug worth $440.
During the search they also recovered 7 Bron clair cough syrup which was unregistered with the medical controls council. The drug worth $14. He then tried to bribe the police by giving them $3. This led to his arrest.
