Byo to get new $208m dam

Bulawayo is set to have a new dam to be situated at Glass Block in Matabeleland South in addition to the current six.
The dam is expected to cost $208m.
The city with a population of more than one million people draws its water from Insiza, Mtshabezi, Umzingwane, Inyankuni, Lower Ncema and Upper Ncema, all located in Matabeleland South
Speaking during the Water, Sanitation, Health and environment ( WASH) conference in Bulawayo last week, Water and Climate change official, Tinayeshe Mutazu said they have identified an investor for the project.
"This project was thoroughly discussed during the Water Resources and Infrusturure Investment conference that was held in June and its estimated cosy was pegged at $208 million and JR Goddard Construction put their name as a potential investor, hence we are working with them to iron out all the logistics before work begin," he said.
