Nguboyenja man up for cultivating cannabis

A man from Nguboyenja in Bulawayo is in trouble after he was found to be cultivating plants of cannabis (mbanje) in his garden.
Fani Mhlanga (58) was not asked to plead to cultivating dagga charges when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Merylin Mutshina. He was remanded out of custody to October 9 for trial.
The court heard that on October 1 this year police officers from the CPU West were on duty when they observed Mhlanga cultivating in his garden and there were green plants which they suspected to be dagga.Police officers then went and discovered they were plants of mbanje and this led to Mhlanga's arrest.
They discovered that he had grown eight plants of dagga measuring between 17cm and 106cm.
