Policeman knocks down workmate with a brick, boozing in a shebeen

A Bulawayo policeman appeared in court facing attempted murder charges. Jerry Mwembe (31) struck his workmate, Artwell Mawerewere with a brick on the head while boozing in a shebeen at Vulindlela Flats in Makokoba.

Mwembe of Pumula North who is based at the Zimbabwe Republic Police Stops Camp, was not formally charged with attempted murder when he briefly appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa.

Mawerewere is reported to be in a coma at Impilo hospital.
