Lizwe Sikahle Dube (19) was not asked to plead to the fraud charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sithembiso Ncube.

The magistrate remanded him in custody to a further date for trial.

The court heard that on Sepetmber 9 this year at 2:45pm the complainant Sikhumbozo Ndebele went to the Huddan Sly EcoCash Agent and deposited $230 before going into town for other business.

It is alleged that Dube at 1pm forged Ndebele particulars and made a photocopy of his national identity card with his photography.

He then used the particulars to withdraw $225 at the Bradfield EcoCash agent shop.

Ndebele discovered the withdrawal and reported the matter to the Econet and the police.

The Econet then deposited $230 into his EcoCash Wallet but Dube later also withdrew it.

Ndebele also discovered the withdrawal and reported.

Econet and the police then investigated and later arrested Dube.
