Man nearly kills girlfriend for failing to cook

A man from Makokoba nearly killed his girlfriend after she told him that she failed to cook a meal because there was no electricity.
Nathan Finly (28) was not asked to plead to the charge of domestic violence when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.
The magistrate remanded him out of custody to October 27 on $50 bail.
The court heard that on October 14 at 9:30pm Finly asked for food to eat from heis girlfriend Thulisile Maskhalima (36).
Makhalima said she did not cook because there was no electricity. This angered Finly who took a brick intending to strike her but she dodged it.
Finly later tool a metal rod and used it to beat Makhalima with it on the shoulder once. Makhalima fell down and Finly ran away.
Makhalima's daughter Talic Zondo had to call the police and Makhalima was taken to hospital.
This led to Finly's arrest.
