A man from Nketa was defrauded $5000 in a mining deal.
This was heard by the Bulawayo magistrate Sithembiso Ncube when Thamsanqa Kadzu (25) on Nkulumane appeared before her charged with fraud. The magistrate remanded him to November 11 for trial.
The court heard that on August 2014 Kadzu misrepresented to the complainant Wadzanai Shumba of Nketa 8 that they were in partnership to mine gold and share proceeds if they received $5000. Shumba became interested in the mining deal and gave Kadzu $5000.
Kadzu then mined the gold and sold the produce before squandering the income alone.
Shumba discovered the fraud and reported to the police leading to the arrest of Kadzu.
